Kobe Animal Kingdom — Kobe

Kobe Animal Kingdom

Kobe · Port Island · Animals

Animal and flower theme park on Port Island where you pet and feed capybaras, red pandas and birds; admission around 2.200 ¥.

Kobe Animal Kingdom is one of the most original animal parks in Japan, halfway between a zoo, a greenhouse and a botanical garden, located on Port Island a few minutes from the centre of Kobe. Its big appeal is the closeness to the animals: you can pet and feed capybaras, red pandas, alpacas and a multitude of birds that move around in open spaces almost without barriers, as well as watch shows with birds of prey and dogs. The complex combines covered areas, full of flowers and tropical plants, with open-air squares, which makes it pleasant at any time of year. Adult admission is around 2.200 ¥, with reduced rates for children. It is reached in about 15 minutes from Sannomiya on the Port Liner monorail to Keisan-koen station. It is an ideal plan for families and animal lovers, and it is advisable to buy the ticket online to avoid queues. On arrival, check the show and animal-feeding times to organise your visit and not miss the most popular experiences.
