The Mori Art Museum in Roppongi Hills is one of the best contemporary-art museums in Asia, located on the 53rd floor of the Mori tower with absolutely memorable panoramic views of Tokyo. The collection is purely contemporary, with rotating exhibitions of top-level Japanese and international artists that explore everything from cultural identity to technology and the environment. The combined ticket with the Tokyo City View, the 52nd-floor viewpoint with floor-to-ceiling windows, usually costs between 2.000 and 2.500 ¥ depending on the exhibition. The hours are 10:00 to 22:00 most days (until 17:00 on Tuesdays). It is reached by metro to Roppongi (Hibiya and Oedo lines). Access to the viewpoint at nightfall with Tokyo illuminated at your feet is an experience hard to top. Book tickets online to avoid queues, especially at the weekend.
