Uobei Shibuya Dogenzaka

Tokyo · Shibuya · Gastronomy

A fast-sushi chain with tablet ordering; most plates 100-160 ¥, very cheap to eat.

Uobei Shibuya Dogenzaka is the perfect option to eat quality sushi without spending almost anything. Unlike traditional kaiten-sushi, here there is no rotating belt: everything is ordered via a touch tablet in English and arrives at your seat through a high-speed rail system with up to three parallel lanes. The delivery speed is surprising and the process is part of the fun. The plates cost from 110 ¥ and most are between 100 and 160 ¥, which lets you feast on eight or ten varied pieces for less than 1.500 ¥. The branch is in Dogenzaka, the street that climbs from Shibuya towards Love Hotel Hill, about ten minutes from the crossing. It opens from 11:00 to 24:00 on weekdays and from 10:30 at weekends. Ideal for groups or couples who want to eat fast and cheap without sacrificing variety or flavour. No need to book.
