Uoshin Nogizaka

Tokyo · Roppongi · Gastronomy, Nightlife

A fresh-fish izakaya near Roppongi; a typical dinner with drinks 3.000-4.000 ¥.

Uoshin Nogizaka is an izakaya unlike anything else you will find in Tokyo: it belongs to a fish distributor that supplies high-end restaurants, so the quality of the product is extraordinary at a very reasonable price for the area. It is located near Roppongi Hills and the Nogizaka area, in a two-storey space where you can choose the fresh fish directly at the ground-floor counter and ask for it to be prepared grilled, steamed or raw. The atmosphere is festive and casual, with tables made from wooden crates and seats on beer crates, which contrasts with the sophistication of the district. The house specialises in sashimi, yakizakana (grilled fish) and regional sake. A full dinner with drinks is around 3.000-4.000 ¥ per person. Booking is essential for dinner between 19:00 and 21:00. Combine it with a visit to the Mori Art Museum before dinner.
