The route usually includes the Great Buddha of Todai-ji temple, one of the most impressive monuments in Japan, and a walk through the streets of the mercantile Naramachi district, with its traditional wooden houses. The highlight comes at the Naramachi Beer brewery, where at least one craft beer made in the area is included, a little-known side of Nara that surprises most visitors.
