Redhorse Osaka Wheel Ferris wheel (Expocity)
The tallest Ferris wheel in Japan (123 m) in Expocity, with transparent-floor cabins and views of Osaka, Kobe and Nara; admission around 1.000 ¥.
The Redhorse Osaka Wheel, in the Expocity complex in Suita, is the tallest Ferris wheel in Japan, at 123 metres tall, and one of the most photogenic attractions in the Osaka area. Its climate-controlled cabins, some with a transparent glass floor, offer a turn of about 18 minutes with 360-degree panoramic views that on clear days reach Osaka, Kobe and even the mountains of Nara. As night falls the structure lights up and the views of the lit-up city are especially beautiful. Admission is around 1.000 ¥, with luxury-cabin options for a supplement. It is reached on the Osaka monorail to Banpaku-kinen-koen station, next to Expocity, where you can combine the visit with the NIFREL aquarium-zoo, cinemas and shopping and dining areas. It is a simple and inexpensive plan, perfect at dusk and highly recommended if you travel with children or are looking for a good panorama without going up a more expensive paid viewpoint.
