Baseball at the MAZDA Zoom-Zoom Stadium
Watch a game of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, the city's most beloved team; tickets from 1.700-4.500 ¥ depending on the seat.
The MAZDA Zoom-Zoom Stadium, affectionately known as "Mazda Suta" or "Carp Stadium", is one of the most modern and beautiful baseball stadiums in Japan, opened in 2009 next to Hiroshima station. The Hiroshima Toyo Carp are the city's most beloved baseball team, with a passionate fan base —the famous "Carp Girls" and the red tide of supporters fill the stadium at every regular-season game (from March to October). Attending a game is a unique cultural experience: the Japanese atmosphere at baseball is different from the American one, with coordinated songs, trumpets and red umbrellas opened as a sign of victory. Tickets range from 1.700 ¥ in the outfield stands to 4.500 ¥ in covered seats. They are bought online (on the official website) or at the box office on the day if any are left. The stadium is a five-minute walk from the south exit of Hiroshima station. The lit-up scoreboard and the night-time atmosphere make the game a memorable experience.
